Affordable Summer Activities for Kids in Smith County, TX

School’s out soon, which means your kids will be home for the summer. You’ll need to keep them busy, but exotic summer vacations aren’t budget-friendly for most folks. Luckily, Smith County has affordable summer activities for your kids. Take a look!

  1. The Tyler Rose Garden

Tyler is home to the largest rose collection in the US, and your family can see it all for free. Enjoy a walk through the garden and its museum to understand why Tyler’s motto is “A Natural Beauty.”

  2. Mentoring Alliance Summer Camp

Send your kids to an affordable Christian summer camp hosted at nearby schools in Tyler ISD and Whitehouse ISD. Your kids will stay fresh on their academics while playing laser tag, octoball, and more.

  3. Green Acres Bowl

Bowling is timeless family fun, and this alley lets you play for as little as $5 a game. There’s also a snack bar, so your family can chow down on pizza while they bowl the afternoon away.

  4. Urban Air Adventure Park

Indoors doesn’t mean inactive. Take the kids for a day of fun at this indoor trampoline park. Parent tickets cost half of the child tickets, so you can jump too.

  5. Camp Ford Historic Park

Ready to get back outside? Enjoy free picnics, trails, and learning at this former Civil War prisoner of war camp.

We know you’ll love these adventures, so don’t let the summer heat keep your family from experiencing our beautiful county!
