Congratulations to Scholarship Recipient Adriana Weeks
Congratulations to Adriana Weeks, our 2024 scholarship winner at the college level. Adriana currently attends Tyler Junior College, where she is on the dean’s list.
The Kelly Community scholarship emphasizes the spirit of volunteerism, and Adriana shines in this area. In 2023, she served as a debate camp instructor and tutor for tenth graders in three different camps. She also volunteered at a dance studio as a leader and role model for girls ages 6-10, as well as a musical theater aid. Moving forward, Adriana plans to volunteer at the Children’s Park, which she says is an integral part of her family due to the recent loss of her older brother. She sees it as a place of hope, encouragement and living joy.
“As I pursue an educational career, the lessons and interpersonal skills I gained will guide me into being a well-rounded educator who is sharpened alongside my students,” she says. “These lessons are invaluable as I earned them through hard work and experience. Volunteering catalyzed my realization that I wanted to invest in a career dedicated to our future.”
