Do This Before You Lose a Loved One

Losing a loved one is something most of us don’t want to talk about, but it’s such an important conversation to have. Getting financial and legal matters in order now, no matter your age or the age of your spouse/family members, will make life easier on the surviving family members after the loss of a loved one.

Kelly Community has created a bereavement guide to assist you with taking care of important items that will need your attention when you experience a loss. It was designed to help you navigate what is often a confusing time and is a valuable tool, whether you recently lost a loved one, or you just want to prepare for when that day comes.

Use this guide to record important information now, like:

  • The names and contact information for important people like your financial planner, insurance agent, HR department at your spouse’s job, etc.
  • Documents like insurance policies, death and birth certificates, last will and testament, marriage license, social security numbers and more
  • Death benefits
  • Account numbers
  • Loan documents
  • Power of Attorneys

Losing a loved one is never easy. Using this checklist to gather information ahead of time will make life easier when you experience that loss.
