Board of Directors Election Process
In accordance with the Credit Union Bylaws (Article V, Section 1) the Chairman of the Board of Directors will “appoint a nominating committee of not fewer than three members.” Board Chairman Michael Barr has made the required appointments to the Nominating Committee: Bill Shanholtz Jr (Chairman), Jim Voit Jr., and David Moody,
Nominations by the Nominating Committee
As directed by Credit Union Bylaws (Article V, Section 1), “It is the duty of the nominating committee to nominate at least one member for each vacancy, including any unexpired term vacancy for which elections are being held.” The committee nominates the following members for a three-year term, each: Michael Barr and James Stovall.
Nominations by Petition Procedure
In addition to candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee, members may be nominated by petition. No nominations may be made from the floor. The petition must nominate a member and include a written description of their qualifications and must be signed by five hundred (500) members in good standing. The Credit Union Board Secretary must receive any signed petition prior to Friday, February 1, 2019, at 2105 W. Grande Blvd., Tyler, TX 75703. On the petition is an Agreement to Serve that must be signed, certifying the petitioner is willing to serve for the term nominated.
In accordance with Board policy, any new business for the Annual Meeting must be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Board by Friday, February 1, 2019. Any new business submitted in writing to the Secretary will be responded to in writing at the Annual Meeting. There will not be a call for new business at the meeting.

Board of Directors Nominees
Michael Barr. Mr. Barr worked for the Goodyear Tire Company for 37 years before retiring and is an incumbent member of Kelly Community Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors. He has served on the Board since March 1983, and is the current Chairman of the Board. Mr. Barr receives training on a variety of credit union topics, including financials, annually. He has served on the Dean Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors for more than 38 years and has held the position of President since 1994. Mr. Barr also has over 40 years of business experience in real estate sales, development, and construction. Mr. Barr enjoys involvement in the commercial business environment and working with people.
James Stovall. Mr. Stovall worked for Goodyear Tire Company for 36 years before retiring and is an incumbent board member. He has served on the Kelly Community Board of Directors since March 1995. Mr. Stovall receives training on a variety of credit union topics including financials annually. He also served four years in the U.S. Navy and served on the Board of Education for the Winona School District for 12 years. Mr. Stovall has also owned and operated his own fertilizer business for 30 years.
