What is an IRA?
An IRA is a tax-advantaged savings account. That means you don’t pay taxes on the money in the account until you use the money.
Save money now, pay taxes on it later.
An IRA helps you save for retirement by allowing you to grow your money tax-deferred. Our credit union offers IRA Savings as well as IRA Certificates.
- No minimum balance
- Flexible terms
- Flexible deposits
How it works.
- No minimum balance is required to open an IRA Savings Membership, but you will need to be a member of Kelly Community. For an IRA Certificate, you’ll need to deposit $1,000.
- Contributions may be made in “lump sums” or by regular deposits to an IRA Savings Membership throughout the year.
- IRA Certificates are available with terms of 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, and 60 months.
Note: There is a penalty for withdrawals from the IRA Savings Membership, unless you are moving the money over to an IRA CD, or you are eligible to withdraw.
IRA withdrawal rules and penalty details vary depending on your age and type of IRA.
