Congratulations Ca$h Camp Graduates
This summer, we hosted our first-ever Kelly Community Ca$h Camp, and it was so much fun. We had a group of fifth of sixth graders and another group of seventh and eighth graders for two full days to learn about all things money.
They learned about:
- Credit unions
- Saving for something they really want
- Checking accounts
- Budgeting
- Loans and credit cards
- Scams and Fraud
- Investments
- And so much more
They even got to open an account if they wanted to. As you can see from the pictures above, it was two days packed full of fun and games.
Even serious topics can be fun when you make them relatable, and learning about money is important for today’s youth. Experts say children’s views and emotions about money are already formed by age 7. It’s up to us as the adults in their lives to be sure we teach them how to be responsible with it.
