Cheaply Clean Up Your Home’s Look and Boost Curb Appeal

It may be a seller’s market, but buyers still need to like your home before they buy it. Sprucing up the outside and inside of your house helps buyers picture themselves living in the space.

Here are some great (and cheap) ways to clean up your home’s look.

  • Landscape: Selling your home starts at the curb. Get rid of weeds and overgrown grass without fancy tools. Then, plant low-maintenance flowers like Black-Eyed Susans to add splashes of color.

  • Paint: A new coat of paint won’t cost too much, but it’ll make a world of difference. Cover up colorful paint with neutral colors, which are more appealing to buyers. Fresh paint also gives your outside siding or inside walls a cleaner feel.

  • Replace Dated Fixtures: Believe it or not, fixtures like faucets, door handles and light fixtures (inside and outside) will date your home (think bright brass knobs). Choose a modern design and update your fixtures so buyers don’t feel like they’re at grandma’s house.

Remember, you have to buy a new home once you sell your current one. The Kelly Community team is here to make the process of getting another home loan easy, and we’ll walk with your family every step of the way.
